clase de 4º ESO C!
Como os
indico en la planificación docente, la semana del 28 de noviembre vamos a ver
vocabulario y phrasal verbs relacionados con el deporte. Para empezar, voy a
haceros una pequeña mención de lo que son los phrasal verb por si hay algún despistado o despistada que no se acuerda de lo que son. 😜
Los
phrasal verbs son verbos compuestos que tienen un significado distinto del
verbo original, están formados por un verbo y un complemento gramatical, ya sea
una preposición, un adverbio o ambos. Yo sé que no os gustan, pero amplían vuestro
repertorio gramatical, os ayudan a expresaros de forma más natural y fluida en
inglés haciendo que parezcáis “nativos” y demuestra que poseéis un mayor
dominio de la lengua inglesa.
A
continuación os añado una serie de phrasal verbs muy útiles en el mundo del deporte
y fitness. Yo que vosotros les echaba un vistazo porque puede que alguno
aparezca en la actividad 2 😜. ¡Espero que os ayuden!
Work Out →To do exercise.
E.g. This morning I went to work out at the gym.
Work Off → To burn calories or food consumed.
E.g. I need to work off all that Christmas food!
Fall Behind →Begin to lose in a race.
E.g. He was winning until he fell behind at the 3rd
mile.
Try Out For → To Audition for a team.
E.g. You’re so good at basketball, you should try out
for the university team!
Knock Out → To punch somebody unconscious (usually used in Boxing).
E.g. The boxer knocked out his opponent in the 2nd round.
Catch Up → Reach an opponent in a race.
E.g. After spending most of the race in last place, Jem finally caught up to the rest of the runners in the last 50 m.
Cheered on
E.g. The crowd cheered on the players of the match.
Got through
E.g. She got through the race even though no one trusted her.
Drop out
E.g. He dropped out the race after 2 laps
